INTEGRATIVE HEALTH ASSESSMENT

An Integrative Health Assessment is based on the holistic health philosophy the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Given the right ingredients – appropriate nutrition, regular elimination of toxins, adequate rest and rejuvenation, and mental/emotional balance – the body will heal, repair and recover into good health. It is the exposure to and accumulation of unnatural substances and stresses that compromise the natural healing abilities of the body. A holistic approach addresses these underlying causes of health imbalances, clears toxic blockages and restores health through natural means including nutrition, supplements, homeopathy, herbology, essential oils, and non-manipulative bodywork treatments. The holistic health approach therefore strives to promote health rather than confront disease.

Principles of Holistic Health

  • The Healing Power of Nature: A holistic approach recognizes the inherent self-healing process in each person and facilitates this vital force through natural modalities.
  • Identifying and Treating the Causes: A holistic approach seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness, rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
  • First, Do No Harm: A holistic approach uses non-invasive modalities and techniques to facilitate healing.
  • Practitioner as Teacher: A holistic approach seeks to educate the clients and encourage self-responsibility for health.
  • Treating the Whole Person: A holistic approach takes into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and other factors.
  • Prevention: A holistic approach emphasizes prevention through maintenance of health and vitality.

The Integrative Health Assessment

The Integrative Health Assessment is a complete holistic health evaluation conducted by a certified Holistic Healthcare Practitioner. The main component of the Integrative Health Assessment is the use of holistic evaluation tools to assess the underlying causes of health imbalances. These evaluation tools include:

  • In-depth health history
  • Dietary and lifestyle assessment
  • Face and tongue observation
  • Iridology
  • Chinese pulses
  • Kinesiology
  • Reflex point testing

This assessment is used to develop an individualized holistic health program for the client. The recommendations may include natural remedies (nutritional supplements, herbs, homeopathy and/or topical preparations), detoxification, dietary strategies, lifestyle modifications and bodywork therapies. Based on the client's needs, strategies and resources for promoting emotional, mental and spiritual wellness are also integrated into the program.
The Practitioner may recommend Functional Medicine Lab Testing as needed.
